Are Qatar reducing the number of stadiums it will build for the 2022 World Cup?

Daniel Poer:

Organisers behind the 2022 World Cup have revealed that the tournament may see just eight stadiums constructed to manage the eventĀ  despite all bidding plans requiring at least 12 venues.

The move was confirmed by FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke who explained the plans in an interview with the Associated Press last Friday.

“There is a discussion. We will be pragmatic and we will find the right number,” he told the news provider.
