Why was Carlos Tevez arrested driving his car in March 2013?

Simon Perez:
Tevez was arrested on the evening of March 7th while driving his car near Alderley Edge, south of Manchester. The Manchester City and Argentina star was serving a ban at the time for previous offences. He faced a potential jail sentence for the offence.
An official statement from Cheshire police said: “At 5.13pm on Thursday 7 March police arrested a 29-year-old man from Alderley Edge on the A538 in Macclesfield on suspicion of driving while disqualified. He has since been released on police bail.”
Tevez had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to supply information over alleged speeding incidents. He was banned for six months and fined a total of £1,540. In his defence, Tevez’s legal team had told the court that the Argentine didn’t understand the word ‘constabulary’ on official letters from the police.
Driving while banned is a serious offence in the UK and can carry a jail sentence of up to six months.
