After an intense two leg semi-final with Liga de Honra side Oliveirense, especially the second-leg being more intense than the first, Académica advanced to the final, but how long did it take for them to reach to the final?

Academica advanced to the Taca de Portugal final for the first time in 89 years, after last appearing in the 1923 final of the tournament when they lost 3-0 to Sporting Lisbon in the final on June 24th 1923.
Academica will face off against Sporting Lisbon once again on May 20th, 2012.
